Welcome to FutureGuard Insights—A Blog on Futuring and Innovation
By Adebayo Cole
My name is Adebayo (A.B.) Cole and I have worked in
IT and cybersecurity for more than 25 years. Currently, I am pursuing my
Doctorate in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Colorado Technical
University. As part of CS875—Futuring and Innovation—I created this blog to
explore the next generation of technological advancements that will impact IT,
cybersecurity, and society.
In this class, we examine how technologies evolve and what
innovations are emerging beyond today's generative AI systems. Research
indicates that neuro-symbolic AI, which integrates deep learning with symbolic
reasoning, is one of the most significant developments in advanced artificial
intelligence, offering new levels of explainability and logical decision-making
(Colelough, 2025; Velasquez et al., 2025). Likewise, quantum computing
continues to emerge as a disruptive force capable of breaking classical encryption
and reshaping the cybersecurity landscape, making quantum-resistant security
essential for the future (Tan, 2024; Yalcin, 2024).
My blog will highlight cutting-edge trends, including
neuro-symbolic AI, quantum computing, autonomous AI agents, human–AI
integration, and AI-augmented biotechnology, as well as the growing need for
ethical AI and effective regulation. Businesses and governments are already
preparing for these shifts through investments in advanced cybersecurity, Zero
Trust frameworks, quantum-safe encryption, and AI-driven threat intelligence
(Tan, 2024).
FutureGuard Insights will provide thought leadership on how
these breakthroughs affect cybersecurity strategy, national security, and
global digital transformation. I look forward to sharing my perspectives as
both a cybersecurity professional and a doctoral scholar, while engaging with
complex questions about the future of technology.
